A tablespoon or tbls for liquids is a level tablespoon,
for dry goods (i.e. sugar etc) it is usually a rounded tablespoon. |
|
A rounded tablespoon means that there is as much above the edge
of the spoon as in the bowl of the spoon. |
|
A heaped tablespoon means as much as you can possibly get on the
spoon. |
|
A level tablespoon means where the ingredient is level with the
edge of the spoon. The best way to achieve this is to run a knife along
horizontally along the top of the spoon removing any excess. |

The above should serve only as
a rough guide and is not an exact conversion.
Don't forget to reduce the temperature and your cooking time if using a fan
oven. Approximately 25°C (50°F) and cooking time by 10 minutes per hour. If
in any doubt check with your cookers instruction book as they do vary from
different manufacturers.
