Toffee Cream Tart
Serves 8 Preparation time:
10 minutes
Cooking time: 10 minutes plus 20 minutes for pastry case
Ingredients Shortcrust
Pastry case in flan dish
1/2 pint Milk 3oz Margarine 3oz Light Muscovado Sugar 2oz Plain Flour 4-6ozGolden Syrup
Method 1. Heat but do not boil milk.
2. Melt margarine and sugar in pan.
3. Whisk in flour.
4. Whisk in hot milk.
5. Keep stirring until the mixture thickens and reaches boiling point.
6. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
7. Remove from heat and add the golden syrup, stir again.
8. Pour into pastry case.
9. Leave to cool and set.
10. Sprinkle with grated chocolate. (optional)

Tips
I always use pouring golden syrup from a bottle rather than from a tin
as it is less messy.
Keep to the lower end of the weight of Golden syrup if you don't like
anything too sweet and just up the amount if you want it a bit
sweeter.
